Visual Network Systems Launches VPM Connex(TM) for Business Service Management Initiatives

Integration into Visual Performance Manager enables IT Process Automation for reduced operating costs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., June  28 -- Visual Network Systems, a leading provider of Enterprise Service Intelligence for IT organizations, today announced the availability of VPM Connex(TM), a set of web services that allows application and network performance information from the company's flagship offering, Visual Performance Manager (VPM), to be utilized in IT process automation and business service management (BSM) initiatives.  VPM Connex enables the integration of VPM's broad set of metrics and deep analysis into third party enterprise management solutions in order to provide actionable intelligence, such as quick root cause identification and business impact evaluation.

The bi-directional integration that VPM Connex provides between VPM and enterprise management solutions in BSM implementations helps IT operations teams improve incident management efficiency and improve the accuracy of IT incident business impact reporting, thus reducing overall operating costs.  Specifically for incident management, VPM detects and analyzes the performance degradation that impacts end users and then forwards the alarms to the service desk and provides a context-sensitive entry back to VPM for further root cause analysis.  Business impact reporting, application performance and end user experience information can be accessed via VPM Connex to support executive business dashboards.

"Visual Network Systems provides unique insight into application and network performance that is unmatched in the industry. The depth and breadth of information that VPM can gather drives visibility into the end-user and customer experience," said Lyn Cantor, general manager, Visual Network Systems. "With many customers today looking to drive down operating costs while improving efficiency and quality of services delivered, VPM Connex provides the access needed to push the VPM data into IT management systems in order to drive transformational initiatives such as business service management."

VPM Connex web services provide access to alarm lifecycle management data for event management, application and network performance data for business dashboard reporting and work flow automation, configuration data for process automation and user interface panels for management tool workflow improvements.
