Grindr Launches on iPad
Social networking giant extends its mobile location-based networking service to iPad platform
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Grindr, the world's largest all-male, mobile, location-based, networking service, announces the launch of a new iPad version designed to take the Grindr experience to the next level. With a new layout and enhancements made possible by the technological savvy of the iPad, Grindr for iPad offers users an easier, even more streamlined means of interacting with other like-minded guys in the world around them.
Just as with other versions, Grindr for iPad utilizes GPS and other technologies to allow users to locate gay, bi, or curious men nearby, view profiles and photos, and instantly connect via chat. However, with Grindr for iPad, the experience of making those connections between users has been optimized to take full advantage of the iPad.
Thanks to iPad's sharp, 9.7-inch, LED-backlit screen and ultra-wide 178-degree viewing angle, images of Grindr users can now be displayed in crisp, crystal clear color. Similarly, because the detail information in user profiles is no longer superimposed over user images, but is instead listed below the profile photo in much larger type than has been seen in any other version of Grindr, users can review profiles with greater clarity. And, best of all, when users double tap on a profile image, it is now magnified to nearly the full size of the iPad screen. Grindr for iPad also allows users to seamlessly sync profiles and favorites with other Grindr compatible smartphones and jump back and forth between their iPad, iPod and iPhone devices. All of these enhancements taken together not only optimize the look and feel of Grindr, but also markedly improve the overall quality of user interaction.
