The 24-year-old shares stories about life at Cambria
SANTA MARIA, Calif.,Dec. 14, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Katie Jackson, the 24-year-old daughter of Cambria Winery proprietor Barbara Banke and wine industry pioneer Jess Jackson, cannot remember a time when the art and business of making wine wasn't part of almost every aspect of her life. To document her experiences and share a behind-the-scenes look at Cambria Winery, Katie has launched the blog http://katie.cambriawines.com.
The blog covers day-to-day life at the Santa Maria, Calif.-based winery, as well as Katie's trials and triumphs in the kitchen, her exploration of local Central Coast cuisine and culture, and the making of her namesake wine, the Katherine's Vineyard Chardonnay. A voracious reader and staunch advocate for literacy, Katie also plans to share her favorite books with blog followers.
"I hope that by telling my stories, I'll be able to open a window into the world of wine," said Katie. "There are a lot of myths surrounding this business, and sometimes people see it as difficult to understand. I want to help change that and make wine more accessible."
