CrimeReports.com Launches TipSubmit Mobile for iPhone

The new software tool is the first anonymous and fully featured crime tipping mobile app for iPhone

SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- CrimeReports, creators of the National Crime Map, today announced the launch of the TipSubmit Mobile app for iPhone. The app is the first anonymous and fully featured iPhone application that lets the public submit tips to law enforcement agencies to help solve and prevent crime.

Users of the free iPhone app may now submit secure and anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers programs, law enforcement agencies or school safety officers and administrators. Thousands of communities, schools and local, state and federal law enforcement agencies will be served by this application due to its integration with TipSoft, the industry leader in anonymous crime tip reporting and management system.

"With our track record in anonymous tip management, tipsters can feel secure in their safety and anonymity using this powerful new tool," said Kevin Anderson, Vice President in charge of the TipSoft product suite. "Tipsters can even receive rewards of up to $1,000 in the U.S. and up to $2,000 in Canada for information submitted to Crime Stoppers that lead to arrests, without anyone ever knowing their identity."

The new mobile application augments the existing TipSoft tools that allow the public to submit anonymous tips via phone, web and SMS Text-a-Tip. The iPhone app offers more powerful options than the existing SMS Text-a-Tip solution offers, allowing the public to easily auto-locate the nearest agency they can submit to or select one manually. Tips submitted through the app may also include uploaded images and video, and even establish an anonymous ongoing two-way dialogue and real-time chat with the receiving agency.

"It's great to see this new mobile product allowing the public to safely and conveniently communicate with their local Crime Stoppers programs," said Crime Stoppers International President Michael Gordon-Gibson. "It is innovation like this that helps keep Crime Stoppers relevant, effective and at the forefront of allowing communities to help the police in solving and preventing crime globally."

There is no cost to the public to use this application and it will be released for additional mobile platforms in the coming months. To learn more or to download the TipSoft application visit http://www.TipSoft.com or visit the iTunes store.
