Bamboo(TM) Paper, launching globally on the Apple® App Store, allows iPad® users to create and share ideas visually with handwritten notes, sketches or doodles

TOKYO, KREFELD, Germany and VANCOUVER, Wash., June 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The launch of Bamboo Paper on the Apple App Store today demonstrates Wacom®'s dedication to creating fun and engaging human interface products that offer computer users natural and expressive ways to communicate. A perfect complement to the Bamboo Stylus for iPad, Bamboo Paper turns any iPad into a digital notebook with the ability to share ideas and concepts with handwritten notes, sketches or doodles.

Express Yourself!

The go-anywhere, work-anywhere nature of the iPad opens the door for applications like Bamboo Paper. "The iPad is the ultimate multi-tasking tool for entertainment, business, school and home use. Bamboo Paper adds a whole new dimension to the iPad workflow and gives users new ways to express themselves in a personalized fashion," said Peter Kurstjens, Director of Applications and Platforms for Wacom. "Having a digital notebook such as Bamboo Paper for the iPad delivers a true-to-life pen and paper experience, allowing users to reach heightened levels of creativity and collaboration."

Bamboo Paper Highlights

Bamboo Paper lets users create virtual notebooks for their iPad. The customizable app allows notes and sketches to be shared visually, easily stored and archived for use at a later date. It features different paper types (blank, lined or graph) and several pen thickness selections. Bamboo Paper takes advantage of Wacom's experience and expertise in pen-based input by offering a natural and realistic writing and sketching application tool.

Besides being a digital notebook, Bamboo Paper can also be used in several other use case scenarios. Connected to a projector, it becomes a visual presentation tool in business to share notes or drawings with colleagues.

The Bamboo Experience

Bamboo Paper continues to push Wacom's Bamboo brand mission forward, offering visual thinkers a way to construct and share their ideas digitally with a user interface that is natural, fun and easy to use. Being the first iPad app by Wacom, Bamboo Paper adds a new element to the existing range of input devices that give users a lively pen experience (through the Bamboo pen tablets and Bamboo Stylus).

Bamboo Paper Availability and Pricing

Bamboo Paper is available at http://itunes.com/apps/bamboopaper for free until June 30th on the Apple App Store. Starting July 1, the app will sell for $1.99 (USD).
