MPR Drug Interactions Checker Now Available on MPR Mobile

NEW YORK, Sept. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Monthly Prescribing Reference (MPR) is pleased to announce that the MPRMobile App now offers a Drug Interactions Checker on the Apple iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) and Android platforms. The MPR Drug Interactions Checker includes a database of nearly 7,000 agents with over 3,800 detailed drug-drug, drug-alcohol, drug-food, and drug-herbal interactions. Interactions are classified by severity and also include:

--  Explanations of the pharmacologic effects of the interaction
--  Recommendations on how to manage the interaction
    --  Full references

The MPR Mobile drug database with Drug Interactions Checker is available to healthcare professionals as a free download for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and Android. New and current users of MPR Mobile can download the latest version at the iTunes App Store or Android Market.

Also new in this release...MPR Mobile has also improved the way it delivers timely drug information by providing users with an Inbox for quick access to news, alerts, and other relevant messages. Users can personalize the information they receive by specifying the topics they are interested in and have the option to request to receive breaking drug news alerts even when the MPR app is not open.

For more than 25 years, healthcare professionals in the U.S. have relied on the print edition of MPR to deliver up-to-date, concise drug information at the point-of-care. Now that same drug information -- with the added features of the MPR Drugs Interactions Checker and MPR Drug News & Alerts -- is available for mobile devices and Smartphones. The pharmacist-editors at MPR are dedicated to bringing the highest quality drug information to all clinicians, with the most powerful and flexible clinical decision support tools available.
