Marketing the GPS-based Social Networking App to Combine Strategic and Tactical Techniques

SARASOTA, Fla., Oct. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- yoddle (pronounced "yodel"), a mobile social-networking application has just launched as a free download on the Apple app store (and at http://www.yoddle.com).  yoddle is setting out to change the way people communicate and interact with those around them.  yoddle will have to do two things very well to stand out in the ever-growing crowd: do what it says it does and leverage every marketing tool in the kit.

yoddle is a GPS-based social network app that allows users ("yoddlers") to create "Scenes" at parties, games, and other events, have them appear on a live map, and then connect with each other with texts, photos, and more in real-time. Users can also use the app to locate friends and connect in real-time with them in public and private scenes.  One big differentiator for yoddle is that a user can press anywhere on the global map and create a Scene instantly. Safety features allow "yoddlers" to control their personal information and allow who can see what by assigning users to Inner and Outer Circles. yoddle offers ample privacy settings and even the ability to "go invisible" so that the user doesn't appear on yoddle's map.

Joseph Grano, yoddle's Chief Marketing Officer, feels that he has a powerful, not-so-secret weapon in his marketing kit for this one. "We can look at the yoddle map at any time and see exactly where all our users are," said Grano. The more yoddlers that are online and involved in "Scenes," the more compelling and interactive the experience becomes. "We can see when a particular city is starting to light up with new users and activity, so we can focus marketing efforts there immediately in order to fuel the fire."

About yoddle

yoddle is the fast-growing mobile social network that uses GPS location mapping to bring people together to experience real-life events in real time. Yoddlers create, find, and share "Scenes" -- live, impromptu networks centered around parties, concerts, sporting events, and anything else that's happening right now. Yoddlers use their own "yo-files" (profiles) to manage their Scenes and Circles with complete control over privacy settings and relationships. They can even go invisible at the touch of a button. yoddle also features private and public chat, messaging, and other social networking features to create a worldwide community of yoddlers who can meet up, find out, and stay completely "In the K(now)".
