- Objet to provide its Objet Connex multi-material 3D printing technology
for hands-on architectural education workshop in collaboration with MIT, ACSA, ACADIA
- Models created during the workshop will be exhibited at the Objet booth
Objet Ltd., [http://www.objet.com ] the innovation leader in 3D printing for rapid
prototyping [http://www.objet.com/rapid_prototyping ] and additive manufacturing announced
that it will be hosting a 48 hour workshop for Architecture professors and students at
this year's ACSA (Association of Collegiate Schools of America) 100th Annual Meeting,
which will take place March 1-3, in Boston, MA. Objet will also be participating in a
number of other sessions during the meeting.
The ACSA workshop will allow attendees to develop breakthrough designs, from concept
to 3D model completion, in just 48 hours. Their 3D models will then be displayed at the
ACSA Annual Meeting - a special exhibit in honor of ACSA's centennial annual meeting.
Gilad Gans, Executive Vice President for Objet, says: "We are thrilled to have this
collaboration with ACSA and MIT as part of Objet's long-standing commitment to enabling
educational excellence. Objet will be presenting its advanced 3D printing and rapid
prototyping capabilities for America's leading architectural professors and students. For
the first time, both faculty and student members will be able to get real hands-on
experience of our unique multi-material 3D printing capability in an intensive 2 day
seminar."
Also presenting at ACSA will be Neri Oxman, Assistant Professor at MIT, who will be
describing her work 'Design by Nature' and how Objet Connex multi-material technology
helps to bring her complex design concepts to life.
Objet's breakthrough Connex multi-material technology is already being used in leading
universities, research institutions and Fortune 500 companies across the United States and
Europe.
Objet is working in collaboration with MIT, ACSA and ACADIA (the Association for
Computer Aided Design in Architecture) to provide architectural faculty and students with
numerous opportunities to explore and learn about how digital technologies, in particular
3D printing, can expand the bounds of architectural education and practice.
NOTE - Viewers can watch the 'Synthetic Landscapes' workshop on the Objet blog
[http://blog.objet.com ] from the 29th of February or via twitter at #ACSA100.
