NEW YORK, February 22 /PRNewswire/ -- To usher in the North American launch of the next-generation handheld gaming device, PlayStation®Vita, a consumer event will be held at the Sony Style Plaza in New York City on February 21-22. This consumer-focused event will mark the official launch of the PlayStation Vita North America when the first unit is sold at midnight on February 22nd.

The first 200 die-hard fans in line will receive a free copy of ModNation Racers: Road Trip. Hardcore gaming fans who line-up to purchase a PS Vita at the midnight launch event will partake in a celebratory evening that includes early hands-on access to PS Vita first party launch titles such as Uncharted: Golden Abyss?, wipeout® 2048, ModNation? Racers: Road Trip, Hot Shots Golf, and Little Deviants?.

The Atrium of the Sony Style Plaza will be transformed into a unique PlayStation Vita environment, equipped with rows of gaming stations for hands-on access and a live DJ spinning party with celebrity DJ, Questlove.
