ROCHESTER, N.Y., March 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Home Properties (NYSE: HME) today announced the launch of a new mobile optimized website for renters conducting apartment searches via Smartphones and other mobile devices. Driven by "one-touch" commands, users are able to check real-time availability and reserve apartments for rent, map GPS directions, as well as utilize a click-to-call button to learn more and set up appointments to visit any of the company's apartment communities.

The mobile site offers location-based search functionality to ensure relevant apartment search results are delivered based on a user's geographic area. According to eMarketer, a marketing news and research service, more than 75% of the U.S. population now subscribes to a mobile phone service and nearly 114 million consumers are expected to access the Internet via mobile in 2012. Google also reports that 50% of all mobile searches are for local goods and services.
