Millions Go Social in the Workplace with Jam

Jam is now free for SuccessFactors' customers, bringing the best of social web to the enterprise

SAN MATEO, Calif., March 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- SuccessFactors, an SAP company, announced that starting today Jam will be available to its customers at no additional cost. Jam brings the best of the social web to the enterprise and makes creating and sharing rich media easier than ever. Jam empowers SuccessFactors' 15 million subscribers to share and tap into the expertise of their colleagues in a matter of minutes, unlocking the true value of social software in the workplace. With Jam for BizX Mobile users can publish comments, and capture and share video wherever they are -- quickly and easily from their smartphone. Employees can learn and contribute on the go -- consume content in bite-size chunks, share best practices, get trained and work together with others on their project team.

Tapping into the robust employee and organizational data, Jam is the only social business platform that automatically enrolls new hires, fills out profiles, suggests relevant groups and connects users through their profile data. This, combined with other means of social discovery, such as "most viewed," "most liked," "featured," and "related content," helps workers find the content and experts they need to help them meet their commitments.

Jam is ideal for streamlining the onboarding process, improving communication around talent processes, and sharing and finding expertise across the enterprise. Teams have the opportunity to work efficiently in public and private groups, drawing on a wide array of tools, including videos, screen recordings, blogs, wikis and social docs.

"Experts are everywhere at work. But when an employee needs help, finding the right person or content can be a real challenge, even in highly-organized companies," said Dmitri Krakovsky, SuccessFactors vice president of global product management. "At SuccessFactors, we live in a highly competitive, dynamic business environment. Innovating fast was a business need - so we created a tool to collaborate in real time, identifying experts, answering questions and learning from one another. We're excited to extend our own internal social web experience by making Jam available to all of our customers. It can have an impact on their people and their business results."

Jam puts collaboration and learning in the hands of the workforce. Customers from across any industry, including healthcare, retail, high tech or non-profit are using Jam to create basic training materials, courses and tools. In addition, everyone can record a "how-to" video or screen capture in just a couple of clicks, and easily share documents, post new ideas, questions, or suggestions.

Customers can upgrade to Jam Premier for a more advanced feature set, including unlimited storage and groups, connectors to other systems (e.g., SharePoint), and automated group management. Jam Premier has proven to be a great success with more than 430,000 seats installed in Q4 2011 alone.

Availability
Jam will be available as part of the SuccessFactors platform to all customers. SuccessFactors will begin activating Jam for its customers on March 28, 2012.
