A milestone in the transition to the next generation Internet Protocol, World IPv6 Launch Day marks the commitment of service providers, websites and home networking vendors to permanently enable IPv6 for their products and services. To help its customers meet that commitment, Lantiq has completed sanctioned testing to certify that its customer premises equipment (CPE) broadband access chipsets and Universal Gateway (UGW) software packages are "IPv6 Ready."

Lantiq's XWAY(TM) xDSL and network processor Systems-on-Chip (SoCs) and UGW software suite received the "IPv6 CE Ready" designation after successful tests at the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL). This assures that manufacturers of home routers/gateways are enabled to develop future-ready solutions based on Lantiq chips and software.
Comprehensive Home Gateway Solution
Evolution to a next-generation Internet based on the IPv6 protocol is required to provide unique IP addresses for all devices operating on the worldwide network. For equipment manufacturers, support for the extended addressing scheme requires both SoC-level and firmware/software innovation. Lantiq is among the first communications SoC suppliers to provide this support in its broadband access products.
