Twizgrid Sets Its Sights on Nearby Twitter Photos
SAN FRANCISCO, June 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Twizgrid, the increasingly popular photo browser for Twitter, released a substantial upgrade last week with a multitude of new features. Twizgrid's objective is to provide an alternative way to experience Twitter, through photos rather than textual tweets. Combining aspects of Instagram, Highlight, and Pinterest, users can view Twitter photos by topic, person, or location.

Just one month after launch, Twizgrid continues to push the visual envelope. New features include a massive increase in available photo content, convenient access to a user's home timeline, and a recent album to view images in real time.
What really elevates Twizgrid, however, is the addition of a dynamic album entitled "Around Me" that chronologically displays nearby photos. Co-Founder Chauncey Regan believes, "This feature supplements dominant nearby apps, such as Banjo and Highlight, as well as Twitter's nearby tweet feature. Twizgrid now offers an enticing way to view what's happening in the immediate vicinity, whether it's a raging party or a raging fire."
Cognizant of the privacy concerns surrounding other venue-based apps, Twizgrid opts for a more user-driven approach. Specifically, Twizgrid does not pinpoint a user's precise location. Instead, users may choose to casually reveal their whereabouts in the accompanying tweet on a case by case basis.
