Verizon Wireless Expands Its 4G LTE Network On The Big Island Of Hawai'i
Nation's Largest 4G LTE Network Growing Fast, Covering More Than 2/3 of U.S. Population
HONOLULU, June 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon Wireless has expanded the nation's largest 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network on the Big Island. The expanded 4G LTE network enables customers in more parts of the Big Island to use their wireless devices to surf the Web, listen to music, stream live video, take advantage of thousands of applications, and stay in touch with family and friends, all with speeds up to 10 times faster than before.
Verizon Wireless 4G LTE service is currently available in Hilo, Keaau, Mountain View, and Pahoa. With the network expansion, residents in the following areas have access to the nation's fastest 4G network:

-- Keauhou
-- Kealakekua
-- Captain Cook

In real-world, fully loaded network environments, Verizon Wireless 4G LTE customers should experience average data rates of 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink.
