Kozio Introduces Industry's First Verification and Production Test Solution for Embedded Design
LONGMONT, Colo., June 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --Kozio, Inc. (http://www.kozio.com), the leading provider of software solutions for embedded hardware design verification and production test, today announced the release of VTOS(TM) Suite I, based on a special purpose Verification and Test OS (VTOS(TM)). VTOS Suite I is the industry's first operating system based verification and test solution for the engineering lab and the production test floor. VTOS Suite becomes part of the design chain and can save up to 75% on development costs as compared to other verification and test approaches. VTOS Suite is configured for your design and comes with an extensible functional test library and powerful debug capabilities that include scripting and direct hardware access. Processor support includes Texas Instrument, Freescale and AppliedMicro. Embedded product companies can now utilize a VTOS based platform across the entire hardware life cycle from design to production to field-based power-on-self-test.
"Before VTOS, companies used a variety of approaches that included Linux or home grown test programs as their design verification and test platform. These approaches lacked the investment and features required for this critical phase of the hardware lifecycle," said Bob Potock, Vice President of Marketing, Kozio, Inc. "VTOS Suite is built specifically for embedded hardware test and provides users with a single solution that spans prototype verification, production test and power-on-self-test."
A recent article in Cellular News written by Ian Mansfield, indicated that customers returning electronics products cost U.S. consumer electronics retailers and manufacturers nearly $17 billion in 2011, an increase of 21 percent since 2007, according to a new Accenture research report. This report is an indication that companies need to reassess their test strategy to stay ahead of the competitive curve in an ever evolving market. VTOS Suite maximizes customer confidence in new hardware with higher test coverage and improved fault isolation capabilities.
About VTOS Technology
The Kozio technology combines a special purpose OS with a comprehensive peripheral and processor functional test library. The Verification and Test OS (VTOS) provides a powerful verification platform for test execution, file transfer and debug. VTOS is designed specifically for the purpose of embedded design verification to ensure design correctness, performance and reliability. VTOS is configured on a per hardware design basis to optimize efficiency and speed. VTOS accelerates the verification process with an interactive command interpreter and powerful test library.
About VTOS Suite
VTOS Suite comes with a functional test library and a software development kit (SDK) all for the purpose of design verification and test. The suite includes:
-- Integration Workbench((TM)) - a PC based GUI application that
communicates with VTOS running on a Device Under Test (DUT)
-- vLink(TM) - PC based middleware, providing IP communication support
between VTOS and any host application
-- Sequence Runner((TM)) - Production test operator's interface for
automated testing and configuration of embedded systems
-- Sequence Reporter((TM)) - Remote test reporting and tracking used to
report the status of board testing by a variety of criteria
