Twizgrid Upgrade Merges Twitter Photos with iTunes Music
SAN FRANCISCO, June 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- AJP Apps announced today the release of yet another upgrade to their Twitter-centric photo app, Twizgrid. After launching Twizgrid only two months ago, the San Francisco start-up took another step in its quest to present Twitter as a visual medium, adding a unique slideshow feature paired with iTunes music.
Twizgrid, which displays Twitter photos in an interactive grid, allows users to browse photo content on Twitter by topic, person or location. As a visual portal to Twitter, it provides a fresh and unique way to approach tweets and discover the world around you.
With the intention of becoming a complete visual media platform for Twitter, Twizgrid's new slideshow feature offers users an effortless alternative to viewing photos. Inspired by the recent Triangulation interview of Soundcloud Co-Founder Alex Ljung, who extolled the synergy of sound and slides, the Twizgrid team added a feature permitting users to accompany slideshows with iTunes music. Leveraging this platform, Twizgrid plans to soon link audio streams with select Twizgrid albums.
Says Twizgrid co-founder Chauncey Regan, "We are delighted by the response we've received from users and the tech community, including an offer for a substantial equity infusion from a private equity group, and we are determined to keep pushing to unlock the visual feast hidden in Twitter."
Ms. Regan continues, "Several major upgrades are already underway, which we feel will transform the visual side of Twitter and take us to a new level of media completeness. Musical slideshows are simply the beginning."
Twizgrid is available for free on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
