Babylon [http://www.babylon.com ], a veteran in the translation industry, was
established 15 years ago when it first launched its dictionary software.
To celebrate the milestone, Babylon's 160 employees enjoyed a pool party at the home
of the CEO, Alon Carmeli, with a huge birthday cake and 150 helium balloons bearing the
Company's logo. The guest of honor at the party was Amnon Ovadia, the founder and first
CEO of Babylon, who continues to accompany Babylon as a shareholder.
"From the outset, we recognized an important niche in the market" says Alon Carmeli,
Babylon's CEO. "We are really pleased to celebrate 15 years in the business. When back in
1997, Babylon launched its dictionary software, we couldn't have imagined that over 150
million people, in over 231 markets worldwide, would be using its software" continues
Carmeli. "Over the last 15 years we have achieved very much. Babylon continues to be a
worldwide leading language solution provider."
