WegoWise Expands Platform to USGBC LEED for Homes Projects

Online platform now available to 23,000 residential units to help optimize building performance and reduce operating costs

BOSTON, Aug. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- WegoWise, a leading building performance analytics provider, today announced it will provide developers and owners of the U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC) LEED for Homes projects with complimentary yearlong access to its WegoPro platform. The online platform will now be available to help developers and owners benchmark the energy and water performance and minimize operating costs for nearly 23,000 certified LEED for Homes residential units, with an additional 86,000 registered projects in the pipeline.

WegoWise will validate that participating LEED-certified homes projects, including single family, multi-family and mid-rise projects, meet high performance metrics set out under the LEED for Homes rating system. Their platform taps big data to automatically update with current utility information and provide clear, actionable comparisons that help users to improve the building's operational efficiency and compare actual usage against projections to determine where behavior change will maximize energy savings. Under the arrangement, WegoWise will support the program's goals to ensure that homes are functioning as energy- and resource-efficient.

"WegoWise's solution for benchmarking and measuring building performance is fundamental to the success of our program," said Courtney Baker, Residential Operations Manager at USGBC. "Homeowners and developers who invest in LEED for Home certification have a powerful energy efficiency foundation, but need a reliable tool to track the long-term performance of their properties. This program offers actionable information on actual energy and water savings, ensuring customers can get the most out of their LEED-certified project."

"Participants in LEED for Homes are already making sustainable decisions, and by presenting actionable data we help them extend the value of their investments," said Barun Singh, Founder & CTO of WegoWise. "Providing this tool to LEED-certified projects will project owners and managers an easy way to visualize their building's utility performance and get the most out of every energy efficiency dollar."
