LUSTRECOLOR Expands its Product Portfolio with KODAK PROFESSIONAL ENDURA Electrophotographic Papers
ROCHESTER, N.Y., Aug. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- LustreColor (http://www.lustrecolor.com), a full service wedding and portrait photography lab located in Canton, Mass., has chosen KODAK PROFESSIONAL ENDURA Electrophotographic (EP) Paper to create a new category of press products for its customers. Citing the look and feel of the paper, LustreColor recently began using the EP paper for its Sedona Portrait Books, as well as expanded use of the new media to other applications, including calendars and posters. These offerings complement LustreColor's traditional albums, produced with KODAK PROFESSIONAL Photographic Paper.
"Our professional photographer customers, and the clients that they serve, are very discerning when it comes to how their images look in the products we produce. As a result, to be successful, we have to offer and produce high quality output products," said Ken Wilson, co-owner of LustreColor. "When we first saw Kodak's EP Paper we knew immediately that it was going to have an important role in our press products department."
"First and foremost it's a professional print product; it looks and feels like Kodak's professional photographic paper. Now both our photo and press products have the same 'look and feel,' which is very important to our photographers. Second, the image quality is terrific. It has a smooth continuous tone look even though it's printed with a digital press. Images printed on Kodak's EP Paper simply look richer than when printed on other press media."
KODAK PROFESSIONAL ENDURA EP Papers achieve the look, feel and surface of photographic paper, due to Kodak's proprietary E-surface technology. This surface, combined with the ability to duplex print, helps labs expand the capabilities of a digital press to include look books, portfolios or other duplex applications requiring photo quality output.
"One of our key priorities when we bring new media to market is to make sure it can help our customers maximize current investments and grow their businesses," said Christopher S. Van Zandt, Vice President & General Manager, Paper & Output Systems, Americas Region, Eastman Kodak Company. "LustreColor's use of our EP Paper really shows how a creative business partner can tap into our broad media portfolio to add compelling product offerings and access growth opportunities. Through a close association with Kodak, LustreColor can meet the needs of its clients with a variety of professional imaging products and forms at multiple price points with consistent professional grade quality. This consistent quality on Kodak media provides a compelling reason for consumers to engage a professional photographer who works with a professional lab to capture and preserve significant life moments and stories."
