Wilfred is based on the critically acclaimed Australian series of the same title and was adapted for FX by David Zuckerman (Family Guy, American Dad, King of the Hill). Elijah Wood (Lord of the Rings) stars as "Ryan" and Jason Gann, who co-created and starred in the Australian series, plays the title character "Wilfred."
Wilfred tells the story about a "pot smoking" dog and adventures with Elijah Wood (Ryan), a legal medical marijuana patient.
Known as the "Martha Stewart of Marijuana", Shuman brings 25 years of experience as the "cannabis expert" on the show hired to produce authentic scenes for the "Marijuana Dispensary" recreated from her very own "Beverly Hills Cannabis Club", complete with props including the CANNAcig and other products by GotVape.com.
Combining the worlds of the $1.7 billion cannabis industry and celebrity, Wilfred is seen as a pioneer in introducing marijuana use to be discussed openly like any other topic at the dinner table and water coolers around the world.
"I placed the CANNAcig's fate in the hands of Director Randall Einhorn. While we have no creative control on the final cut of the show, the CANNAcig being used as a prop in 'Wilfred' is a big step in exposure of the brand. The CANNAcig was also gifted to several members of the cast and crew," said Cheryl Shuman, Company spokesperson for Rapid Fire Marketing.
Tune in to watch Wilfred Thursdays at 10 p.m. on the FX Network.
