MIRAMAR, Fla. and MONACO, Sept. 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- MTN Satellite Communications (MTN), the leading global provider of maritime communications, connectivity and content services to remote locations around the world, and Jetstream(®), a media delivery and communications company delivering cutting-edge technologies to the super yacht industry, today announced the immediate availability of Jetstream HD, a high-definition streaming content solution powered by MTN's Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) connection. Through this exclusive partnership, MTN's yacht customers can view content in high definition on their televisions and mobile devices, getting an "on land" experience while at sea.
Jetstream HD allows yacht owners and guests to access television channels in high definition anywhere in the world. Customers log into the Jetstream platform through any device - computer, smartphone or tablet - with an Internet connection or through the Jetset, a box that delivers the Jetstream directly into the television, giving full control through any touch panel. Customers experience full functionality of their satellite receiver right at their fingertips. Jetstream HD provides access to satellite receivers from international providers including Kartina (Russian), Orbit (Arabic) and Direct TV (USA).
"We continue to build and strengthen our value-added service offerings to give our yacht customers the same luxury experiences at sea as they are accustomed to having at home," said Derik Wagner, Managing Director, MTN Yacht Services Division. "Streaming an HD signal requires a robust and stable network, and as the chosen VSAT provider to the world's largest yachts, we are the ideal partner to bring the Jetstream solution to market. MTN is not just a bandwidth provider, we focus on our customers and create solutions that meet their maritime communications needs; this partnership underscores that focus."
The JetStream HD solution can be viewed at the Monaco Yacht Show, September 19-22, 2012 in JetStream's booth located at QP68 - Parvis Piscine or in MTN's POP Lounge located at the Black Legend Restaurant on the route de la piscine, just in front of the Darse sud tent.
