mDialog Recreates The National/Local Ad Break For Linear, Live And On-Demand Programming On IP-Connected Devices

mDialog's New Ad Routing Technology Bridges Gap Between Emerging Online and Traditional TV Business Models; Extends National and Local TV Ad Inventory Split to Linear, Live and On-Demand Streams

AMSTERDAM, Sept. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- IBC - mDialog, the leader in video stream management on connected devices, today announced the ability to replicate the national and local TV ad inventory split on IP-connected devices including the iPhone, iPad, Android, GoogleTV, AppleTV, Roku and Xbox. Working with mDialog, media companies will be able to effectively replicate the existing ad break business rules for linear, live and on-demand programming across the fragmented landscape of connected devices, reaching new audiences while maintaining their current business rules and carriage agreements.

"The ability to replicate the on-air business model across a full landscape of connected devices will open up an incredible opportunity for media companies as they look to monetize their content on new platforms," said Greg Philpott, founder and CEO of mDialog. "With our proprietary ad routing technology, media companies will be able to integrate local and national advertising across linear and live programming, as well as take advantage of the increased targeting capabilities that come with our uniquely addressable advertising solution for linear and live programming."

mDialog's Ad Router is a key component of the Smart Stream Platform and allows media companies to place national and local ad avails into a single ad break by dynamically orchestrating ad requests and responses with a federation of Ad Decision Servers supporting both VAST and SCTE 130 standards.  mDialog's Smart Stream Platform can be installed within a customer's data center or accessed in the cloud as a software as a service (SAAS) platform.

"We'll have the capability to not only deliver video advertising across connected devices, but can now fulfill an ad break in real time using standard ADS protocols such as VAST and SCTE-130.  When we do this, we can hit a federation of ad-servers in real time, enabling the replication of the national/local ad break. We're excited about the possibilities this opens up, both in the U.S. and internationally," added Jeff Clark, EVP, Sales and Business Development, mDialog.

The announcement was made at IBC2012, the premier conference for professionals engaged in the creation, management and delivery of electronic media and entertainment content worldwide, taking place September 6 - 11 in Amsterdam. mDialog is located in Hall 14, booth #362 where they are available to discuss the new ad routing features as well as 1 to 1 addressable TV commercials, which was also announced today at IBC.
