Mobile Viewpoint Introduces at IBC a Sandwich box sized low Power HD/SD Streaming Bonding Solution, the WMT-Bold
ALKMAAR, the Netherlands, September 5, 2012/PRNewswire/ --
During IBC 2012 Mobile Viewpoint's will showcase this latest development in 3G and 4G
bonding for live video transmission. The close cooperation with the BBC in their 70 day
live coverage of the Olympic torch Relay using Mobile Viewpoint's WMT equipment and the
experiences gained during this major project lead to the development of the WMT-Bold. This
is a unique product that combines an extendable antenna and off the shelf USB modems.

This autumn Mobile Viewpoint will introduce the WM- Bold, a combination of an embedded
hardware encoder and off the shelf USB 3G, 4G, CDMA2000 and Wimax modems. The modems are
located in a separate antenna array providing the highest gain possible. The antenna array
has a sophisticated removable design making it possible to separate the bonding and
encoding hardware form the antenna array for better reception and radiation purposes. The
WMT-Bold can be used on the back of a camera or put in a small carrying bag. The WMT-Bold
was the missing part in Mobile Viewpoints portfolio leveraging existing USB low power
hardware.
Michel Bais, Managing Director Mobile Viewpoint: "In many customer projects we are
facing the always existing incompatibility between modem and mobile network manufacturers.
Especially in 4G we have seen many issues regarding hand over between 3G and 4G. Also LTE
frequencies differ and sometimes networks are still in trial phase. This makes it only
possible to work with USB modems provided by the local operator. The WMT-Bold with its USB
based antenna array makes it possible to plug in any modem and leverage a whole market of
affordable devices and reduce power consumption at the same time".
