Sony and hitRECord, Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Open Collaborative Production Company, Provide Artists with a Unique Opportunity to Create Art with Sony NEX-5R Camera
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Sony Electronics and hitRECord, Joseph Gordon-Levitt's open collaborative production company, have teamed up to provide artists with a unique opportunity to create photo and video art.
Throughout the fall, video and photography-based creative collaborations will be featured by Gordon-Levitt at hitRECord.org for development. To jump-start the process, Sony will provide select artists from the hitRECord community; artists who have displayed their passion and talent for photography and cinematography, with NEX-5R cameras to help realize their creative vision. The collaborative projects will be developed by hitRECord's creative community of more than 125,000 artists world-wide, and presented at hitRECord's upcoming Fall mini-tour as well as syndicated throughout the internet.
"hitRECord creates art using technology. Sony creates technology to make art. And, by making better technology available to artists, the potential for higher quality art increases exponentially," said Gordon-Levitt. "I've used Sony cameras since I was a kid. And, Sony has remained one of my main cameras of choice ever since. It feels so perfect to me that Sony is coming on board to support hitRECord and our creative community of artists."
"We're thrilled to be able to show our support for Joseph and the hitRECord community, and to be able to get our new NEX-5R camera in the hands of its talented artists," said Michael Kenny, senior marketing manager from Sony's digital imaging group. "Combining a lightweight design and Wi-Fi connectivity with a large image sensor and the freedom to change lenses, the camera is a perfect fit for the highly creative, connected group of artists on hitRECord. We can't wait to see what they're able to produce."
In addition to distributing the collaborative art made by the hitRECord community, because of the relationship with Sony, hitRECord will be able to pay its artists more than it ever has before.
hitRECord's Fall tour will kick off November 13th in Washington, DC. As hitRECord live-events are an opportunity to create, Sony will have a number of NEX-5 cameras on-hand to help capture the creative process.
Artists of all concentrations (Video, Audio, Image and Text) are invited to join-in on the thousands of creative collaborations currently going on at hitRECord.org. To learn more, please visit: http://www.hitRECord.org
