search capability, drawing on results from Google, Bing and Yahoo!, as well as linking in
with other popular social sites like Twitter and Facebook.
Social start-ups are traditionally faced with heavy competition from the major
players, although initial analysis of the trial has revealed some impressive results,
including a highly promising visitor return rate of 12% - the industry standard is just
2%-3%.
Students will use the device to advance their understanding of basic computer
programming, with the school's engineering teacher, Tom Dubick, enthusing over the
students' ability to "get to play and try new ideas" in a sandboxed and affordable
environment, with the price for the device currently standing at just $35.
