According to a May 2011 report, 'Big Data: The next frontier for innovation, competition, and productivity' from the McKinsey Global Institute, there is a shortage of talent necessary for organizations to take advantage of Big Data. This shortage of talent is widely believed to be the biggest block to the wholesale adoption of Big Data by industry.
