NEW YORK, Oct. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- DailyCandy, the original trusted source for taste-making discoveries of fashion, food and fun, today launched DailyCandy Scout, a mobile app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch that enables consumers to become roving DailyCandy contributors, trendspotting and sharing their favorite local discoveries in real time. DailyCandy Scout's crowdsourced content will be highly curated by DailyCandy editors who will also program the app experience with multiple weekly Scout Challenges that inspire users to hunt for the next big thing. A select group of more than 80 of DailyCandy's favorite designers, boutique owners, chefs, TV talent, entrepreneurs, and influential bloggers will join the newly formed DailyCandy Scout Society, contributing their personal discoveries via the new app, interacting with other app users, and collaborating with DailyCandy on a series of content initiatives.
Whenever and wherever inspiration strikes, DailyCandy Scout users simply snap a photo, add witty captions, upload their finds and share their discoveries with the DailyCandy community and beyond via Facebook and Twitter. Editors will also introduce several challenges every week. At launch, the initial challenges will include "Scout That Street Style," "Flaunt Those Fall Kicks," "Demonstrate Your Good Jeans," and the Halloween-themed mission, "Display Your Disguise." Scouts who submit the most unique, DailyCandy-worthy finds for Scout Challenges will have the opportunity to receive direct feedback from editors, win valuable prizes, and earn bragging rights by having their discoveries spotlighted across DailyCandy's email newsletters, website, video series, and social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Tumblr.
