PureWave selects Aricent Group LTE eNodeB Software Framework to develop next-generation LTE solutions
LTE eNodeB software framework has revolutionary family of small cell LTE base stations
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- TheAricent GroupĀ®, a global innovation and technology innovation services company focused on communication, today announced that it has licensed its LTE eNodeB software framework to PureWave Networks, an innovative provider of small cells. Aricent's world class LTE eNodeB software has been integrated with award winning PureWave Constellation family of revolutionary small cell LTE base stations which will begin commercial trials later this quarter.
Aricent's LTE eNodeB software framework provides highly evolved layer 2 and layer 3 modules for the PureWave Constellation family of LTE eNodeBs to deliver optimum wireless coverage and capacity in a range of deployment scenarios, including dense urban environments.
In addition to jaw dropping capacities of up to 1Gbps, PureWave Constellation base stations offer operators a wide array of features including a unique multi-tenant option that allows up to three operators to share the same base station box, while each retaining full control of their respective spectrum band, management capability and core network connectivity.
"Small cells offer operators the only economically viable way to keep up with the rapidly increasing demand for wireless data service. PureWave Constellation base stations dramatically improve the operator business case for small cell deployment by allowing operators to share the cost of network deployment, while retaining full control over their network," said Ronen Vengosh, VP of Marketing and Business Development at PureWave Networks. "Aricent is providing a solid foundation on which we have been building our advanced platform, and they have been an excellent technology partner to us in our efforts."
The Aricent software framework integrates layer 2 and layer 3+ LTE modules that provide a highly optimized platform for development of superior LTE solutions. The software provides multi-mode functionality and value-added applications for Radio Resource Management (RRM), call and session management, Self-Organized Networks (SON) and management plane. It provides complete layer 2 and layer 3 functionality that can be readily integrated with other modules and has been enhanced by exposing clear interfaces to provide easy interoperability.
"The combination of Aricent's software platform with PureWave's innovative architecture and unique productization delivers a highly compelling LTE solution to meet the demands of this ever evolving market," said Rakesh Vij, vice president of business development, wireless and convergence, Aricent Group. "We are very pleased to partner with PureWave to help them deliver a competitive and next generation LTE solution in a cost effective package."
