WikiLinks for iPhone®/iPad®/iPod touch®
A New Way to Discover the World, Now Available on the App Store
GENEVA, November 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Boris Conforty, an independent developer, is launching WikiLinks, an application that
offers an innovative way to browse through knowledge. When using WikiLinks, searching and
learning become an entertaining multi-touch experience. Already over 300'000 downloads on
the App Store.
WikiLinks gives you access to all of Wikipedia's many resources and more, in every
language, including Simple English, from Wiktionary definitions to user-provided images,
to the most relevant YouTube videos and Google search results; all in one intuitive
interface.
Your path from one article to the next is represented as a series of interconnected
flowers, where the petals are related articles selected by a smart algorithm. Toss the
dice to try your luck and create an article bouquet.
Articles look gorgeous on your device's screen and support up to 60 fonts at any size.
Thanks to WikiLinks' state-of-the-art technology, original images are replaced with
razor-sharp versions to make Wikipedia more beautiful than ever. Articles have an
accompanying full-screen image gallery with thumbnails and captions. Pictures can be saved
to the device.
WikiLinks offers 100% accessibility to those with impaired vision through the
VoiceOver screen reader.
"Before a trip, or when I might be somewhere without cell network coverage, I "toss
the dice" and download the whole article bouquet for offline browsing. The history feature
allows me to browse previous searches and read articles whenever I wish", says Boris, the
app developer.
Geolocation allows you to discover nearby points of interest and read articles about
them.
You can print the articles and share your discoveries with your friends through
Facebook, Twitter, mail, and text messages.
WikiLinks has been installed by 300'000 users in less than a week and has been ranked
first in the Reference category in several countries. The application is 50% off for a
limited time to celebrate its launch.
