LAS VEGAS, Jan. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --

    WHO:
Bre Pettis, CEO of MakerBot(R) Industries, will present MakerBot's newest 3D
printer, the MakerBot(R) Replicator(TM) 2X Desktop 3D Printer, at CES.  This
"daredevil" machine will push the limits of 3D printing and will allow users
to experiment with new techniques, prints, and colors.

In addition to the MakerBot Replicator 2X Desktop 3D Printer, MakerBot will
also be making several exciting announcements at the 2013 Consumer
Electronics Show that will impact all areas of MakerBot - from its website
Thingiverse, to its printers, software and filament.

And, on Wednesday, January 9, at 4:00 p.m., at the MakerBot CES booth, Bre
Pettis will sign copies of his new book on 3D Printing entitled "Getting
Started with MakerBot," which is part of the Make: makezine.com book series
by O'Reilly.  The first 200 guests to MakerBot's booth (Booth #32025 in LVCC
South Hall 3/4, Upper Level & Connector) on Wednesday, January 9, at 4:00
p.m., will receive a complimentary signed copy of the book.

    WHAT:
The MakerBot Replicator 2X Experimental 3D Printer is a full-featured
desktop 3D printer for daredevils and experimenters to explore the frontiers
of 3D printing.  Equipped with two extruders and optimized for the
traditional thermoplastic ABS filament, the MakerBot Replicator 2X is an
even more advanced extension of MakerBot's most recent new product, the
                   MakerBot Replicator(TM) 2.

The MakerBot Replicator 2X Desktop 3D Printer is MakerBot's fifth generation
"prosumer" 3D printer.  The 2013 Consumer Electronic Show (Booth #32025) is
the first time the machine has been unveiled to the public and available to
see in action, in person.  The MakerBot Replicator 2X Desktop 3D printer is
priced at $2,799 and will start shipping in mid-January 2013.
