SNAP! Learning Founder and President Mark Sullivan said the company provides teachers, administrators and students with a highly effective, research-based approach to closing the achievement gap for not only struggling readers, but for all readers. All SNAP! Learning products are developed to meet the rigors of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for English Language Arts.
"We are proud to offer proven solutions at a cost that is affordable to virtually every school district in the country," Sullivan said. "Our products were created for Teachers by Teachers to provide an early start to literacy development, English language learning and support for grade-level reading. We are passionate about helping students become skilled, independent readers, and hope our pricing will help get these valuable tools into the hands of those who need them most."
Sullivan said all the company's products - including nearly 200 original titles - incorporate CCSS-based instruction into every lesson. Each title directly correlates to the CCSS by addressing key ideas and details, craft and structure, integration of knowledge and ideas and text complexity. Products include:
SNAP! Mobile
Now available on iPad or Android devices (using a free app powered by MobL21), and even on a laptop, each title has been designed to help students Grades 2-6 acquire contextual background knowledge, practice fluency, learn vocabulary, read or listen and participate interactively with the story. Included are 10 titles, with 150 hours of instruction per grade level.
The app collects data from built-in assessments for fluency and comprehension and stores it on the MobL21 website for easy access by the teacher or administration. SNAP! Mobile features text and audio in English and Spanish with interactive exercises, videos, photo slideshows and animations. The teacher version includes a fully scripted digital lesson plan with embedded professional development containing three lessons per title.
SNAP! Interactive
These unique and engaging interactive lessons for supplemental reading are delivered on an electronic whiteboard or on a projector/computer. Each lesson replicates our student books, vividly displaying each page and embedding videos, slide shows, animations and graphic organizers. Each provides an opportunity for students to interact using a built-in pencil, highlighter and eraser.
Each grade level contains 30 interactive lessons (three per title) and 10 fully scripted printed lesson plans with embedded, professional development to match each title. Each grade level has approximately 30 hours of instructional time plus activities. Student activity pages and student books can be printed.
SNAP! Print
Our predominantly nonfiction library of books engage students in learning to read informational text and understand content concepts. Each title includes built-in fluency practice, vocabulary and comprehensive scaffolds with all activities to support instruction in the text. Teachers are provided clear, concise, scripted lesson plans that support each title with embedded professional development. Each grade level provides nearly 30 hours of instructional time, can be structured to accommodate programs for RTI, special needs, or small group intervention. All print materials can be printed as desired included with the annual fee. We also offer the ability to purchase pre-printed kits at an additional charge.
Over 200 titles are available for reading levels from pre-K-6(th) grade. The product is also appropriate for grade 7/8 struggling readers.
