New JumpView Movie Format Debuts with Jesse McCartney Mystery; Innovative Campus Life Feature Delivers New Way to Experience a Movie
"Me-centric," Snackable Non-Linear Viewing Approach Provides Action, Surprises, Social Engagement for Multi-Platform, Second Screen Viewing
NEW YORK, Feb. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- They say that college is the time to discover who you are -- but what if you aren't who you thought you were? And what if you aren't where you thought you were? That's the premise behind Campus Life, a full-length feature film which is the first JumpView movie available immediately at http://www.jumpview.com. Starring teen sensation Jesse McCartney, the film follows scared and confused students who are targets running out of time. Viewers unearth the mystery that is Campus Life through the eyes of five characters - as each unravels unusual events on a college campus, they find that "the Truth doesn't always set you free."
The innovative JumpView format approaches storytelling in a new way, offering a "me-centric," snackable viewing experience for mobile devices, smart TVs, Macs and PCs. Not a theatrical experience and not a webisode, JumpView lets viewers watch individual character storylines independently and out of sequence according to personal preference. With the ability to jump from device to device without losing your place, JumpView movies provide a second screen experience that can be viewed anywhere and at any time for audiences who are connected 24/7/365.
"The JumpView format reimagines movies for audiences today, taking advantage of mobile, the cloud and TV anywhere to deliver everything the Internet can offer," said Michael Simon, co-owner, JumpView Entertainment. "JumpView allows viewers to focus precisely on what they want, following timelines and characters in or out of sequence to watch wherever or whenever, consuming content when they feel like it."
Created bySimon and Kenneth Waddell, the JumpView format is poised to transform the film experience, delivering individual story experiences. Each JumpView movie is a theatrical length feature that lets viewers explore characters and piece together the plot in whatever manner they choose depending on timeline selections - there's a different story experience each time based which characters they follow. Major characters have their own timeline, sharing the story from their unique P.O.V.
Watching a JumpView movie is easy and fun: a central Start Film sets the stage for individual timeline exploration and finishes with an End Film that can only be unlocked upon viewing two characters' complete timelines. The intuitive JumpView player gives viewers the freedom to go forward or backward in the story with a simple click, and an easy-to-use visual guide offers a full map of all character storylines before and after the Start Film. Viewers can seamlessly navigate the story timeline, seeing viewed and unviewed clips, character intersections and even watching the same scene from two different viewpoints if the dots line up.
Social by design, JumpView movies are deeply integrated through Facebook to connect friends and fans with the story, allowing for collaboration and fun as viewers explore and experience the twists and turns in Campus Life.
Campus Life, co-written by Simon and Waddell, is the first feature in what the creators see as an ongoing series of titles for the revolutionary platform. Co-directed by Waddell, the two hour Campus Life film also features Conor Leslie, Hannah Hodson, Alice Kremelberg, Ritesh Rajan and Jack Falahee. The JumpView format can also be used by studios and production houses to reintroduce feature and TV libraries to new audiences.
JumpView Start Films and two character episodes are always free to view at http://www.jumpview.com. Campus Life is priced at $4.99, and viewers have three days to watch the movie as many times as they choose.
