American Innovations Launches New Solid State Relay
Provides Continuous Cathodic Protection to Pipelines; Boosts Surveyor Productivity
AUSTIN, Texas, May 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- American Innovations (AI), protecting people and the environment with compliance solutions for the oil and gas industry, introduces its industry-first 20 Amp DC Normally Closed (NC) Solid State Relay (SSR).
In partnership with a worldwide leader in solid state switching technology, AI brings to market this new relay, used for current interruption and switching during close interval surveying. Oil and gas companies regularly conduct close interval surveys to assess the effectiveness of installed cathodic protection systems on underground pipelines.
The 20A DC NC SSR provides:
-- Continuous cathodic protection - Because it's a normally closed relay,
the switch will default to the "closed" position if the interrupter
fails. Current will continue to flow over the pipeline, protecting it
against corrosion.
-- Speedier surveys - This SSR is designed for those conducting fast cycle
interruption. Because surveyors won't have to wait around for long cycle
times, they'll realize a tremendous productivity boost.
-- Superior reliability - Being solid state and not mercury, this relay
facilities cleaner cycles with minimal spiking, making it far more
reliable in fast cycle scenarios.
-- Full compatibility - The SSR is compatible with all interruption-enabled
AI remote monitoring units and interrupters.
