Technicolor Announces First PC Monitors to Receive Technicolor Color Certification - HP Envy and HP Pavilion Series

PARIS and HOLLYWOOD, California, June 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --

Technicolor [http://www.technicolor.com ] (Euronext Paris: TCH; OTCQX: TCLRY), a
worldwide technology leader in the media and entertainment sector, today announced that HP
[http://www8.hp.com/us/en/home.html ] will be participating in the Technicolor Color
Certification
[http://www.technicolor.com/en/solutions-services/technology/technology-licensing/image-color/color-certification ]
program. The color-certified HP Envy and HP Pavilion monitors
will be available to consumers in Q3 2014. The color certification program, introduced in
June 2013 by Technicolor and Portrait Displays, is a process that controls the colors on
the screen of qualifying laptops, monitors, all-in-ones, smartphones and tablets. When a
device has been certified, consumers are assured that the colors on the screen are pure
and accurate.

Accurate color representation is more important than ever given the wide variety of
content - including video content from streaming media services, Blu-ray Discs, and photos
featuring diverse color settings. Consumers are viewing a significant percentage of their
content on laptops, monitors, all-in-ones, smartphones and tablets, which do not deliver
the true rich colors of the original content. Additionally, e-commerce also suffers from
color inconsistencies as the color of the item purchased often is not the same as depicted
on the screen.

To achieve Technicolor Color Certification, products must go through a gauntlet of
tests conducted by Portrait Displays, a leading application software provider (ASP), to
ensure the best color performance. Certification testing includes measuring critical color
parameters such as gamut, gamma, white point, and target color accuracy. Once a device
passes all of the test criteria, that model is awarded Technicolor Color Certification.

"With industry leader HP as the first company to have its PC Monitors Technicolor
Color Certified this validates the Technicolor Color Certification program," said Manuele
Wahl, Senior Vice President, Technology Licensing activity at Technicolor. "Technicolor
spends hundreds of hours each year to ensure color perfection on movies and we wanted to
find a solution that guarantee consumers are seeing the content as the director intended.
The color certification program is the vehicle to achieving this goal and will be a
differentiator for device manufacturers looking to sell more featured products," she
added.

The HP Envy (2 models including 23- and 24-inch diagonal screen sizes) and HP Pavilion
(13 models including 20-, 21.5-, 23-, 25- and 27-inch diagonal screen sizes) micro-thin
widescreen backlit monitors feature In-Plane Switching (IPS), a color-rich technology
resulting in image and color consistency. The monitors also include HP Enhanced+, which
delivers super-crisp images and advanced noise reduction and the HP My Display software
control, allowing users to manage all aspects of their display settings and unique
productivity features that partition multiple open applications windows simultaneously.

To help consumers during the shopping experience, the certified monitors will feature
the Technicolor Color Certified logo prominently on the packaging and collateral
materials.
