Gangrene Games Says: Shoot Your Friends

KAYSVILLE, Utah, Sept. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- As Gangrene Games, a Utah-based tabletop game company, gets ready to release their initial 3 party games, they seem to have no qualms about encouraging gamers to Shoot Their Friends. In fact, their initial flagship game comes with a toy gun, a double deck of cards and a great big colorful title that reads "Shoot Your Friends."

The up-and-coming company chose Shoot Your Friends as its flagship first-release product into the tabletop game industry due to its fast-action play and, according to game creators, addictive nature.

"Our play-testers love it," said Craig Nybo, Shoot Your Friends creator. "The game goes fast. There are no turns, just a mad flurry of laughter, excitement, and, of course, electronic gunshot sound effects."

When asked about the controversial nature of Shoot Your Friends, a game that comes with a toy gun intended to be aimed and fired at other players, Ben Fuller, Gangrene Games's marketing head, said: "Are you kidding? Shoot Your Friends is a party game. If you want something violent and controversial take a look at those first-person shooter video games on the market. They are bloody and graphic. Shoot Your Friends is all about laughter and having a good time. It's a social game."

Shoot Your Friends comes with a deck of 112 cards and an electronic toy gun--an optional silencer is included. Players eliminate opponents by creating lethal combinations of face up cards on the table, scrambling for the toy gun, and shooting other players out of the game.

Along with Shoot Your Friends, Gangrene Games plans to release two additional card games in their initial offering. Trash War pits medieval knights against each other in a flurry of modern junkyard combat. Hoagie, the third game in their offering, pits players against each other in an attempt to build the perfect sandwich while fouling opponents' ingredients with the Oogies, a gang of pesky critters bent on spoiling any ingredients in sight.

When it comes to Gangrene Games and their foray into the tabletop gaming industry, one might ask, what is a little make-believe Russian roulette between friends anyways?

Gangrene Games began a Kickstarter for their trio of games on September 1. For more information about Gangrene Games, visit http://www.gangrenegames.com.
