A New Digital Coaching Plan Aims to Get Kind-Hearted Fundraisers Ready for the Race for Life

LONDON, June 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --

Instead of dreading the punishing 5K and 10K events being held throughout the summer
of 2015, women can now relish the challenge ahead by getting race ready with a 12-week
training schedule. The Race for Life 5K app [http://bit.ly/1Fi1nML ] has been developed to
give women the fitness and strength they will need to complete the shorter of the two 'fun
runs'. It doesn't matter whether the user wants to break a world record or simply stroll
around the course to rapturous applause, this digital app is packed with advice, workout
plans, and nutritional guidance.

For women who are attempting the doubly difficult longer run, the Race for Life 10K
app [http://bit.ly/1FEI2HX ] steps up the intensity of training and lifestyle change -
giving women the physical and mental attributes they will need to make it to the finish
line without needing an oxygen mask. And the icing on the cake? 20% of every sale of these
sophisticated training apps will be donated to Cancer Research UK.

Both training plans are designed for women of all ages, sizes and fitness levels.
Kiqplan's Race for Life apps [http://www.kiqplan.com/www/partners/r4l/five-and-ten-k-run ]
use a combination of the user's personal information and activity data to develop an
individual training programme. Activity - including the number of steps taken and calories
burned - is monitored by an activity tracker or smart phone. The user is then given
specific workout schedules, nutritional guidance and lifestyle tips based on current
fitness levels and weekly progress.

For more than 20 years, millions of women have been taking part in 5K and 10K races
all over Britain - raising more than GBP513 million in the process. This money has been
used to develop treatments and fund research into finding a cure, which is why so many
people show their support for the Cancer Research UK event. Although tens of thousands of
women are keen to play their part in raising around GBP50 million this year, not all of
them are in the necessary physical shape - and that's where these intuitive digital
training apps come in.

Race for Life events [http://raceforlife.cancerresearchuk.org/index.html ] are about
to get underway in towns, cities and villages up and down the UK, yet many of the
participants will already by worrying about making it to the finish line without the need
for medical assistance. Fitness app specialist Fitbug has decided to give those people a
helping hand by developing the Kiqplan Race for Life training app.

These intuitive smart apps have been designed to make training as enjoyable as
possible (who said running until you feel like collapsing could be so much fun?). While
the ultimate target is to complete the Race for Life without needing piggy-backs or taxis,
users are given regular targets to achieve throughout the 12-week programme. Meeting a
specific target set by the apps results in the awarding of achievement badges, while
missed targets result in feedback and extra guidance being given - getting the user's
training schedule back on track.

Simon Breakell is the newly appointed Director of Marketing at Fitbug, and he believes
that the new Kiqplan digital training plans can help people to have more fun while running
for a great cause.

"There is absolutely no doubt that the Race for Life has saved countless lives, and
will continue doing so for as long as the generous people of Britain continue to devote
their time, sweat and tears to this fantastic event.

"We wanted to recognise the efforts of fundraisers by developing a reasonably priced
digital training app that gives participants in the Race for Life a fully qualified
personal trainer and dietician in the palm of their hand.

"These two new Kiqplan programmes have the primary aim of getting people to the finish
line in good shape. However, we also wanted them to help people have fun during what is
usually an arduous training schedule, and we believe we have achieved that."

The Race for Life digital coaching plans

events are on sale at the price of GBP4.99. Additionally, 20% of all product sales will be
donated to Cancer Research UK.
