Official opening of the 4Degrés data centre at Technoparc, Saint-Laurent campus
MONTREAL, Sept. 13, 2016 Technoparc Montreal is pleased to welcome the new data center of the company 4Degrés.
The data centre is a 43,000 sq.ft. building with an available load of 16 megawatts. It will serve to meet the ever-growing data processing and management needs of today's businesses.
The construction project started in September 2015. It represents an investment of more than $40 million.
According to Mario Monette, Technoparc Montreal's President and CEO "We are very pleased to welcome the company 4Degrés at the Technoparc. This is a great addition to the set of high-tech companies already present in our Saint-Laurent campus. The building located on Avenue Marie-Curie has a modern and avant-garde exterior architecture, which is easily integrated into the frame of the scientific park. In addition, the proximity of several potential users will create an excellent synergy among the companies present at Technoparc. We wish a complete success to the company 4Degrés!"
The arrival of 4Degrés adds 40 new jobs at the Technoparc. This confirms Technoparc's role as an important component of the economical development. In addition, the recent announcement of the proposed Réseau Ãlectrique Métropolitain (electric train) by the CDPQ Infra, in which a station is planned at the Technoparc, reinforces the strategic location of the site and will thereby facilitate the access to the site via transportation means other than the car. "
