Portable Air Conditioner

We have central air in the house, but since I live upstairs, it gets mighty hot in my room. I'm considering getting one of those portable air conditioners that use a hose for the exhaust. My windows are casement and I can't put a normal A/C unit in them. I was looking at one that was 9,000 BTUs. I think that is sufficient (more so). Anyone have any experience with any brands? Do they require special power? I looked online, they cost around $350-400 or more. Anyone know of any good deals?

I purchased this one. A Sharp CV-P09FX. The dbA level is 36, but that is wrong. The compressor makes a loud noise when it kicks in and that's the problem. Also, the thing draws 10 Amps! I'm look at either of these two.
