the worst parts I read about yesterday apart from banning free software were:
- no copyrighted data may be transmitted without DRM
- reading digitally protected information with aquireing a licence (this includes watching DVDs under linux, since there are no commercial players) ) - prison and €300,000
i'll make a point of never moving to conservative france - or france in general if this doesn't change
it's obvious why they're doing this right before christmas - less public interest in politics since everyone is so busy.
it gives me a VERY bad feeling because germany's new government is conservative and germany and france are very closely linked. german-french friendship, EU etc.
so who knows what germany will come up with...
Lets just hope that legislation doesn't pass, I doubt it will since some departments of France's govt uses Linux. It would be like the US turning its back on their beloved M$
