AVG Virus Program

I was advised to download the free version, it searches great and everything, but now that I found a virus, ll I can do is quarantine it. Is it possible to fix files or what here? Seems kinda dumb if all you can do is find them but not fix them.

Go into safe mode and try to delete the file manually. Most antivirus programs will quarantine a virus and refuse to delete the file for some reason. Check the virus vault and try to delete it from there as well.

After you quarrantine it, I like to look up the virus on Google and make sure the virus doesn't leave any remnants or anything behind. If you delete the file in safe mode and it seems to come back, Google should have the answers to that.
