TRUE CRIME: New York City Fri Dec 2, 2005 6:42:03 AM#13854Perm Link
Some really great city graphics, a day/night cycle, plenty of pedestrians, traffic, motorcycles to ride (but hard to find), clumsy on-foot controls, a great front hood view (showing the hood of each vehicle), decent missions and a good story with nice acting. The graphics, though very impressive, do tend to glitch from time to time, with slowdown as well since there's so much happening. Plus you can enter stores and buy stuff ala GTA:SA. The game world is HUGE by the way, and it feels like NYC.
So far, a cool game, when I get a minute to play it. Still, GTA:SA is a really tough one to beat, but TCNY does have better graphics/more realistic in cases.
I just played this yesterday at a friends house. There was a bunch of us there. I don't see how anyone can play these games seriuosly. We couldn't stop laughing. Everything just seems so corny.
I like the fact it has motorcycles to ride in a giant, open city like Midnight Club 3, plus the ability to hop off the bike at any time. That's the main reason I've played the game, plus the fact you can do whatever you want; to a limit. I still haven't bothered with half the missions.
If I made a game, it'd be close to this, but without all those missions, and better on-foot camera views.
I havent played the game yet but looks like a GTA rip off. Is it anything like GTA?
The graphics are more detailed, with great lighting, but the controls can't compare to GTA's very responsive, great controls and camera views. If you just like to cause havoc in a giant city, True Crime NY is good.
