nice little poem (not all of this is mine.)

Society's eyes won't see you the same...
They don't care that he crossed the line,
The pain that you feel won't last that long,
It goes away in time,

Don't mention it, Their ears will bleed,
Your words like cyanide,
Choking them with every taste,
Don't you have any pride?

Or did he take that all away,
When his fist first touched your face?
When he stole every ounce of innocence,
Spread your blood all over the place,

Keep quiet my dear, it's all ok,
You should never ever tell,
You can hide out so they'll never see,
Let them think you're not feeling well,

Just hush little baby,You're not alone,
I know that room looks dark,
But When you wake up in a week or 2,
They'll never see the mark,

Doesn't matter what you feel inside...
They'll say you are to blame,
If you never would have gone there,
Then your life would be the same,

Just keep that smile right there my love,
I know you want to cry,
But you look even prettier standing there,
Tear glistening in your eye,

Make it stay, just hold it in,
Keep those emotions at bay,
He had every right to do those things,
You shouldn't have dressed that way,

I know I know, You were very young,
and we really never warned you,
some men just don't know how to act,

It still isn't good to mention those things,
You should have shut your mouth instead,
Now when he finds out that you told someone,
You're bound to end up dead,

What did we tell you little one?
They just won't understand...
It doesn't matter just how loud you screamed,
There was more power in his hand,

I'm sure he's trying to change his life,
He probably made a mistake,
Those other 3 girls he did this to,
Those stories were probably fake,



Thats exactly what they'll say my child,
Just leave this all up to fate,

It has been brought to my attention that most people find it disturbing to hear about rape/violent sexual assaults. I've been told it's wrong to voice my opinion on such things and I am about to explain to the entire world why I completely disagree...

We do not live in a perfect world and those of you who think that we do and believe that rape should be silenced need to be informed of just how much it happens... I believe awareness is the key to lowering the numbers of rapes that actually do occur in the world today. The only problem is too many people are afraid to speak out about it... Some due to the fact they don't want to be looked at differently by society, they just don't believe it, they've never thought about it, etc.... The reasons are numerous for not talking about thing and quite frankly I think they are absolutely ridiculous....

If you have children this is something you DO have to worry about believe it or not... It can happen anywhere, to anyone, at anytime... Don't consider yourself lucky because all it takes is a second for you to become another statistic. Keep children informed about these possibilities and for god's sake if it does happen DO NOT make them be quiet about it... The only way to raise awareness is to actually be "AWARE"... There is strength in numbers.... and if it takes one person at a time then fine... so be it... I'll start...



For those of you who disagree with me on this, Fair warning, you are about to dislike me very much... I have a Voice for a reason, and I'm about to make sure it's heard....
