I think we can all agree that paying $400 for an OS on the desktop is just insane. With the Macs running Intel CPUs, Microsoft has positioned themselves much higher than the competition ($129 for OSX).
The licenses for the versions are not even a break! Microsoft will fail this round and hopefully start to embrace true competition and make stuff for Linux.
What do MS think they are selling? The Beta tests and previews of Vista have shown it to be just a collection of freeware intergrated into the OS. $400? Screw you MS. Now I'm for sure getting a Mac this winter.
Michael: Jodie, how's my schedule look for today? Jodie: You've got a conference and dinner party at the Japanese Embassy regarding wildlife protection. Michael: Oh, yeah...sorry, but I'll have to cancel that. I'm heading out to save America!
If it wasn't for the fear of MS dumping support of it, I wouldn't have gone from W2K. I would even go so far as to say that I prefer 2K over XP Pro.

They don't really expect to compete with prices like that do they? A price like that for an operating system that is merely their catchup OS is a little rediculous. It doesn't have any real innovation. Nothing that impressed me anyway......
