The Elder Scrolls : The War Of The Guilds Wed Dec 19, 2012 9:56:33 PM#271085Perm Link
" And the scrolls have foretold,
of black wings in the cold.
that when brothers wage war,
come unfurled "
many years have passed since the dragonborns time and alduin has not resurfaced to devour our world.
the world has become accepting of every race and even the dovah have taught some humans their language in payment for what they have caused. life is peaceful in tamriel, but especially skyrim.
which is where our story takes place.
skyrim used to be a land of separation and discrimination against all races but now khajiits and humans marry and have children, dark elves and argonians. the list goes on and new races have been formed from these bonds.
the guilds of old are once again where they should be, in power and feared by many.
our story however starts with two young 'sisters' in the dangerous town of riften who no matter what, will always be together.
this is a story of distrust, triumph, power and most of all love.
for the fate of tamriel rests in their hands.
( this is an rp story that aimee and i will be making. when we get to certain point if we haven't lost you then we will make an rp of it but till then, sti tight and enjoy the show~ outside input may be used to design possible quests and decisions in the story but aimee and i are the only ones involved for now )
Aralin awoke from her slumber, the date; Tirdas, 5th day of Hearthfire. It was one of the other orphans birthdays, a young nord child by the name of Sjard. She never really spoke much to the young boy...though she longed to leave the orphanage at some point.
Who knew? Maybe that day will arrive when she least expected it. She laughed, shrugging the idea away "nah, not likely in the slightest.." she said, rolling her eyes. 'well, its not like anyone would want to adopt a dark elf anyway...' she mumbled to herself.
She got up out of bed, changing into her normal clothing, a purple dress with ruffles along the top. She was given the dress as a present on her birthday by the owner of the orphanage, a nice old nord lady by the name of Ilfhild. She was one of few nords who had not teased her for her dark elf lineage..
(I wonder if I might make a backstory for the character I want to add when the role play starts. I can send you a character sheet if you want in pms, to make sure he is accepted before I do the backstory thing. if it's alright with you two.)
name: aideen ka'al
age:13
race:khajiitgonian ( mostly khajiit however she has noticable argonian traits )
( and my hoe bag will be posting mah images for me seeing as daniel died on me D; so now i'm on slends!)
aideen hummed quietly as she sat on a fishing dock just outside of riftens gates. she was helping another khajiitgonian, ca'ara, who was more lizard than cat by watching her nets.
ca'ara paid her for her service and she told her tales of the open sea and how free she'd felt before settling down here in riften with her partner, creya, an orcess.
she loved the stories and often wished that the couple would adopt her and save her from the orphanage.
Aralin ventured out of the orphanage, walking nervously through the city. She knew it wasn't exactly safe in Riften, at least..when you're on your own anyway.. She walked towards the small bridge that was inside of the city, passing through the small market that resided inside. A few guards looked at her, but said nothing more. Feeling uneasy, she noticed a nord and a khajiit, who were clearly a couple, chatting about the orphanage. They soon walked past Aralin, turning away from the orphanage and instead heading towards the temple of mara. Aralin looked down, but eventually carried on walking, pausing at the gates..she never exactly liked the idea of walking out of riften..biting back fear, she took a step out of the gate and -practically sprinting towards the stables- she hid behind a horse. Eventually getting tackled by a nearby dog that stood outside, who barked and wagged its tail back and fourth.
( nouuuu holmes! we have things planned! so wait boy! )
aideen hissed sharply as the nets started to move " ca'ara! ca'ara! they're moving!" she yelled, trying to keep them steady in her hands as the older khajittgonian ran over to her, her wife not far behind.
"easy now aideen! don't let them go!" the woman instructed and pulled at some of the nets, her wife doing the same with the others.
after a few moments of this, the panic passed and ca'ara had sent her on her way.
she was 50 gold richer and had some fresh fish for the orphanage to cook.
although she'd keep the big one for herself!
and so she ran from the docks towards the gate, sometimes if she were lucky, the owner of the stables would let her ride a horse around the area for a few hours.
Aralin was startled as the dog tackled her over, the owner of the stables was laughing while telling the large animal "DOWN, BOY"
the dog soon did as it was told, leaving Aralin be, but still gleefully wagging its tail and staring at her. Aralin stumbled back onto her feet, brushing the dirt off of her dress with a scowl, she wasn't much of a fan of dogs..
She soon heard footsteps coming towards the stables, turning around she noticed aideen in the distance, fish in hand. Waving to her friend she grinned, not noticing the dog from earlier who was now sitting at her feet.
aideen grinned as she saw her best friend and ran up to her " i was working with ca'ara today~! should've seen the fish aralin! they were huge! and lots of 'em were different!" she chimed, tail swishing around behind her, a sign of joy.
" and i got 50 gold from her today because she and creya are off to a wedding today and they needed to hurry and get the shipment in! they would've been late without me~!" aideen beams, grinning widely and showing off her many fangs " we could spend it! or save it.... either way! it has to go towards something cool!"
"Oh! we could save it to buy something BETTER!" Aralin grinned in reply, her head tilting slightly she asked "A wedding? Who's gettin' married?" She asked, wondering who the couple could be.."y'think the couple will ever think of adopting? THIS COULD BE OUR CHANCE!" Aralin grinned in excitement, pulling her friend towards the entrance to Riften "maybe if we act all polite 'n stuff, they'll consider it"
" we could save up and buy a horse or a house of our own aralin! we could just live where we wanted or leave forever!" she says excitedly " and i don't know who's but i think it's between two men possibly.... and if we get back now and clean our things we could be adopted!" aideen purrs.
a guard however stops the two girls " oi, you gotta pay the toll!" he demands.
"besides, we're orphans. we don't got no money for 'yer toll!" Aralin pointed out, which was clearly a lie, but who would think they possess coin? that's like assuming the beggars of the street are rich, when everyone knew the only thing they carried was the cloth on their backs and nothing more..
" well then you ain't coming in then are you?" the guard laughed but his joy was shotlived as aideen had snuck past him and kicked him behind the knee unnoticed " GET LOST YOU CREEP! OR WE'LL SET OUR CARETAKER ON YOU AND SHE'LL CLOBBER YA!" she wailed, darting forward to grab aralin and then running through the gate.
Aralin laughed as they ran, soon turning to hide behind the inn.. when they had lost sight of the guard, she laughed again as she caught her breath. "nice one" She grinned, her attention soon being caught as she saw a few other guards fighting a thief..who was of course outnumbered and eventually caught by the guards, eventually being dragged towards the Riften jail after his defeat...
"y'think that guy over there's apart of that guild thing people keep talkin' 'bout?" Aralin asked, nudging Aideen and nodding over to the thief that had been caught.
"dunno... lots of people steal in this town" she shrugged " could be he stole somethin' worthwhile for himself, could be he stole it for someone else. alls i know is that we need to go get adopted!" she laughs.
"what are the odds that he's marrying the other guy and had to steal a ring?" she asked
She pondered over this for a brief moment before clicking her fingers and saying
"the odds are that his weddin's gonna suck now thats hes in that jail place" Aralin said with a small giggle. She turned to Aideen and said with a mischievous grin "Race ya to the orphanage so we can get ready!" She said, running ahead
"CHILDS PLAY!" aideen laughed as she bounded ahead of her " you know i'm faster than you aralin! s'why i always manage to get 5 sweet rolls on my plate before anyone else has moved to take one!" she laughed.
"one day i'll beat you, I juust know it!" Aralin said, laughing as she ran. She knew Aideen would pass her, but it was still fun either way..
They both ended up at the orphanage, Aralin soon catching up to Aideen. Walking through the door the old nord lady who watched over them glanced their way, rolling her eyes as she turned back to the other orphans who were causing a commotion over sweet rolls.
Aralin disappeared off to her room to brush her hair neatly, tying it up in a bun with a ribbon as she did so. Splashing her face with some water to get rid of any dirt, she left her room, looking somewhat more presentable that before..
aideen was already waiting for aralin, having tidied her things away - she always looked her best... curse of being what she is she supooses - and only needed to tidy her things.
"how long d'you think it'll be when they come?" she asks " and d'you think they'll buy it if we say we're a package?"
"shouldn't be long, how long are weddings y'think?" Aralin said, pondering "and they have to buy it, we stick together, no matter what, right?" Aralin said with a grin
as the hours passed, their hopes soon went with it...that couple wasn't coming any time soon...
Aralin yawned, looking down with a sigh "maybe they'll come tomorrow.." she said, though she knew they probably wouldn't...
" yeah... i bet they just bought a house today and want to settle in a bit before they come get us...." she says, yawning " it's way past napping time.... now i actually need to sleep" aideen pouted.
"I guess.." Aralin glanced around, looked like everyone else had already went to bed..
"Alright, lets call it a night and wake up early tomorrow!" She said, heading towards her room. She climbed into her bed, shutting her eyes she soon went to sleep, dreaming of a life she could never have..
(I just like..weirdly imagined someone seductively whispering to a fish x'D )
one of the children of the orphanage, Olfeig, was wide awake. Noticing aideen approaching the stove, he rolled his eyes and said nothing, falling back asleep.
aideen purrs as she uses her claws to fillet the fish and remove bones before cooking it. she may be all animal but she still had taste spuds! and cooked fish helped better with growth so yeah...
don't judge her she likes cooked fish!
she purrs loudly as she begins eating the cooked fish, making her way back to her room and finishing it off in her bed before slipping into her bed and going to sleep.
Aralin was outside, wandering the small market in Riften. The time was 11am, so the occasional traveler could be seen purchasing things. Aralin climbed onto a nearby low wall, glancing around the area as the people carried on with their day.
aideen was walking out of the bee and the barb, an empty crates in her arms "wait there aralin! i just need to give these to yarlo and i'll be out to play~!" she chimed. she did as much work as she could to buy nice things and receive not only money bot food and drink. she's not stupid, if she can earn money and food at the same time why not do it?
she walked carefully over to the black-briar meadary, that had been founded by maven black briar and had become one of riftens popular buildings. it's now run by one of her descendants, yarlo, a high nord in his 30's. she often helps him with deliveries in town to earn pay.
Aralin nodded, deciding to wait like Aideen had asked. Its not like she hadn't TRIED to to jobs before..in fact she used to tag along with Aideen all the time when it came to jobs..only, she never was good at any of it...nor did it seem like something she liked doing. Eventually she just..stopped trying..
Aralin walked over to the outside of the black-briar meadary, deciding it was better she waited there, considering the guards were starting to get suspicious of her waiting by the marketplace..
aideen walks in with the crates and smiles at yarlo "here's the crates back and here" she says, putting the crates on the counter and getting out a pouch from her bag " is the money~!" she chimes.
"thank you aideen, i don't know what i'd do without your services" he laughed "now take the sack on the desk my dear. it contains some food and drink for the home and a small bit of money in a pouch, about 60 gold" yarlo smiles and aideen stutters for a moment before saying "thank you!" and running to pick up the sack she waves at him before opening the door and running out " ARALIN! WHERE ARE YOU~?" she yells gleefully.
