Getting around Filters Wed Nov 22, 2006 2:12:07 PM#28820Perm Link
Does anyone know any proxies or any ways to get around filters? (you must remember that theres filters to stop the sites to get around filters). help would be nice
I'm tempted to give in my large cache of them, but I'm fighting the nagging feel that this will be your last post you make (mostly because I'm truly surprised you haven't already seen them).

Michael: Jodie, how's my schedule look for today? Jodie: You've got a conference and dinner party at the Japanese Embassy regarding wildlife protection. Michael: Oh, yeah...sorry, but I'll have to cancel that. I'm heading out to save America!
Assuming you have access to change the web browsers proxy settings the best way I have found is to run a SSH server on your home computer. Use something like PuTTY setup a local proxy forwarding to you SSH server. Then you just setup your browers proxy to localhost. This also works with any other internet program such as AIM that will accept a SOCKS proxy. This method is good because all of you outbound/inbound traffic is encryted and on the same port IE uses for encryted web sites so it does not appear out of the ordinary to anyone who may be looking.
Here is a good walkthrough of this method I found.
