Favorite woman artist?

I've been on this kick lately where I've been listening to bands/artists with really nice woman vocalists. So far I'm stuck on Evanescence (Amy Lee has an incredible voice), Beth Orton, Maia Sharp and Alana Davis. Any suggestions for others I should check out?

She may be a little unusual but I really like Jane Siberry, she has a very distinctive voice that I think would be worth checking out

There are many women I like that have been very successful in music, others not as much, but I still like them all: Shakira, Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Anastasia, Carly Simon, Gloria Estefan, Mesissa Etheridge. All of them have their own style and personality. I like them all! But there is a singer, she is from Spain, that has an incredible voice! She is definetly my favorite female singer: Ana Belen. To me, her voice is like velvet! Amazing.

I remember reading somewhere that Amy Lee is classically trained with her voice, so it's no wonder she can sing so well.

I like Annie Lennox, Gwen Stefani, Martha Davis of The Motels, Jann Arden and Nelly Furtado. Oh yeah, and Avril.

Amy Lee is great but I also love Avril and a lot of others that I am not going to list because my fingers may fall off if I do.

Madonna is my all-time favorite, I don't care what they say about her. She has toned down quite a bit since becoming a mother, though.

Carly Simon was one of my favorites from years past that I am now rediscovering. It's almost like running into a long lost friend when I listen to her more recent stuff.

Norah Jones, Sherl Crowe, Carly Simon, Christina Agulara, Steve Nicks, Carole King---Ok I got more but I'll stop here.

I think Madonna has a few tracks that are great pop songs, but now most of her attention comes from things that don't relate to her music.

Mary J Blige, Erykah Badu, and also I like Madonna and Mariah Carey.

Madonna is great. My favorite of hers is Ray of Light.
I also like Candace Night from Blackmore's Night. I think she is one the best women singers ever!

For some reason I really dislike women fronted bands, but a few have made an OK in my book. My favorites are Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Joan Jett, Siouxsie Sue, Debbie Harry of Blondie, and I didn't really mind when my friend played some Patti Smith and I'm thinking about buying the best of Brenda Lee (she sang Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree)...I guess I prefer the retro women singers.

I forgot to add my favorite opera singers, like Montserrat Caballe, Teresa Berganza, Beverly Sills, and of course the Diva by excellence, Maria Callas.

I don't know if she records anymore, but I was really impressed with Poe when her CD was out a few years ago.

Patti LuPone, the original Broadway Evita. She's got a torch song voice that can make you cry from the first note.

I like Kelly Clarkson's sound and Christina's voice and Cher's attitude. I only wish we could hear something new from Cher.

When I'm feeling down, Utada Hikaru kicks butt. Amy lee is awesome as well. Kelis makes me feel mellow. But Utada is my fave.
