I made the first anime topic. So, yeah, this is an awesome anime....a hell of a lot like Evangelion, but still.

I haven't seen it, do they show it on TV or do you have to buy the DVDs or something like that?

EDIT: I also really want to see Evangelion, mostly because it has the Sephiroth...

Well, they play it on the Anime Network(god, I need that station) but they also have the dvds out through number 6, I believe.


And you haven't seen Evangelion? Heathen! But there is no "Sephiroth" in Evangelion....to my knowledge. I last watched the whole series about 3 months ago.

This (http://www.evamonkey.com/writings_chung1.htm) begs to differ. Plus, I've seen a screenshot from the animé with the Sephiroth in it. I'm looking for it now so that I can show you.

Oh.....now I know what you mean. For a second, I was thinking FFVII's Sephiroth.

Yeah, there's this whole really complicated belief system behind it. And that site also explains how each character fits into a specific Sephira.

I've only seen three Eps and form what I saw it was a great anime I like the style of drawing.

I like RahXephon. I've only seen the first dvd though. It's very interesting. Evangelion, on the other, is just to weird. It's like one of those dreams that would leave me feeling uneasy when I wake up. The ideas were actually based on Jewish legend. Lilith, according to Jewish legend, was the first woman; but was cast out of the Garden for some sin. I can't remember what the sin was. I don't believe Jewish legend. I believe what's in the Bible, and they don't say anything about Lilith. And besides they mixed a lot of Japanese ideas in it as they aways do. I don't like it when they mix such things together. Like when they twisted and distorted the ideas about angels in Angel Sanctuary. For one thing angels cannot be human (though they can look it) and humans cannot be angels (unlike what popular belief says). God would kick out of Heaven any angels that would do the evils that the angels in that series had done. Man, I wrote alot.

I've heard this anime was good, but dont know much about it. Can someone give me a brief summary of what this anime is about without putting any spoilers in it?

There's also Kabbahlist beliefs (Sephiroth), which is closely tied in with Jewish beliefs, so I guess that would make sense. And man do I hate when people say the Sephiroth is Satanic, stupid fucktards.

Hokai, this anime is about a kid, Ayato, whose brought up to believe that years ago all of the earth other than Tokyo was destroyed. But, it turns out that a bunch of alien-types were just convincing everyone in Tokyo of this. Then, some lady from a united earth defense dealy comes and gets him out, because he got a big robot thingy called Rahxephon to wake up. Aaaand...theat's a summary of like, the first few episodes.

As for the whole religious thing in Evangelion, there could be like, 80 pages full of the signifcance. And there was, on this other forum I was on. Other than the obviousness(Angels! and big cross-shaped explosions!)
