I've been sitting at my computer trying to find out what kind of fiction book people want to read: I thought vampires but Twilight ruined there image for me, then I thought wizardry but anything with wizardry in it wouldn't sell nearly as good as the potter franchise,so im stuck what should I write a story on. PLEAS HELP
screw the stereotypes, vampires, wizards, monsters, that's all beginers stuff.
as a fello writer, and a damned good one i think, take it from me, after such big book hits like harry potter, twilight, and beast, those three subjects will have vertually n o effect on the reading world. though, i am trying to make a vampire book just to make one...
all that aside, if you want to make a best seller, go with your own ideas and not what you think is popular. think about it, this is what stephen king, wes craven, and other such famous novelists did.
jsut for the sake of examples, before stephen king ever released a horor book, he had writen a fantasy book called, the Dark Tower. ever heard of it? anyways, he showed it to his room mate in calledge and asked for an honest opinion. after his friend got done reading it the first thing he said to stephen kind was, "this is the best damned thing you've ver written." and it still is to this day, it's gotten the most requests and eveything. why? because he went iwht what he wanted to do.
pull a stephen king on everyone, take a few hours and think of a main character, give something extraordinary to that main charac ter that either hasn't been done before, or very seldomly has, put them in a world fit for such a thing, and just run with it. that's what i did with my first book, granted it's not done becuase i have to work out the tweaks in it, but i'm just saying, go for what your breain says, not popularity.
"Tell me I'm forgiven, say you'll always be mine. Say that everything is over tell me I'm fine! Maybe I am crazy an my mind is trying to deceive me. As the ground disappears I wonder, will the sky be the next to betray me...?"
