Cash for Clunkers - The Brilliant Truth

What idiot thought that was a good idea? You could have gotten way more than 4500 for it on the open market and then someone would have had a car. I thought they donated them to charity or resold them to low income families or something. I never even dreamed that they destroyed them. That was just too stupid for me to even comprehend as an option. I am... aghast at the idiocy. Chevrolet still sells new cars that use those engines for crying out loud. I would yank the engine myself and tow the fucking car to the dealer.


Really, I am at a complete loss for words. What good does the government destroying perfectly serviceable automobiles do for the American people? Oh sure, it protects the tax dollars wasted on GM (of course, by using more tax dollars, which apparently makes sense to someone), but what about the people who can't afford a car payment? What about the people who just buy Kias or something? What about people who can't even afford used cars?

Really, this is the angriest I have been about moronic government activities probably ever.

This is one of the worst socialistic programs I've seen. They are going to pump more money into this program today! I really can't believe that our government is subsidizing ALL the car industries and people are falling for getting less money for their cars.

The only thing larger than the universe is human stupidity.

Guess it's a good thing the program has run out of money...

They decided to pump another $2 billion into it...

Just a shame that they are destroying these perfectly fine vehicles.

That's what the government is good at doing, destroying fine things, and then creating bad things.
