OMG FUCK YOU PUNKBUSTER!!!!!

SO if anyone has played any of EA's games they use something called Punkbuster...
And it typically goes like this, they cant automatically update it, so if someone needs to get an update, you have to go find it, and not to mention ontop of that, if your update and the update the server has are not the same, It either forces you to get the newer one, or tries to force you to downgrade. Either way results in you getting a Universal BOOT from Punkbuster.

My story goes like this.
I guess the one server i went on updated to the latest verison of punkbuster, this was before i knew that you COULD update it, and i got booted, system looked up because it tried to force an upgrade. Didnt happen, my game was shit and I had to reinstall, reupdate, Which the reupdating was a PAIN of its own, and then i tried to join a game, i kept getting booted, checked the forums, updated my Punkbuster and I WAS READY TO GO!

Then i try to join a game, the same GOD DAMN THING. Punkbuster, no error, nothing, just says PUNKBUSTER Okay. < Clicky the okay, no choice.

So now im at this point im ready to kill my machine, after hours upon hours of pain in the ass searching, i read that if your verison doesnt match the servers, avoid them So it happens to be I got the one server out of about 200 that updated, and the rest dont keep up to date, so now im fucked over for this game.

any ideas on what the hell to do?

Don't buy EA games? But I've seen Quake 4 use Punkbuster, so I don't know.

What Game?

Its for Battlefield 2142. I got it working, what I had to do, this is great.

I had to run the regedit, delete ANYTHING looking like from BF 2142 or Punkbuster.
Completely uninstall, check again the regedit, remove a few more things.
install again, run the update for BF2142, Update punkbuster, Install Booster back, and then tried again, i think was getting a " Unmodified content error"
After searching twice i found a "Make sure you run the update again after installing the booster"
So i ran it again
and it works fine.

Fucking hell.

Battlefield 2142 has been ridiculed over so much crap already its not funny. What with the spyware it installs on your computer so it can give you in game ads and what not. My suggestion is to just cut your loses and ditch it.
